不明白劇情編排為什麼要用十分鐘把馬先找到，再提那些有的沒的調查、不知道為什麼要設定成獵犬案的後日談…這系列的福爾摩斯蠻刻板印象的，表演和外貌十分貼近原作插圖，但沒添加什麼有趣的特性，雖然有些幽默，但現在來看不過不失又太過老氣沉穩。同時這裡的華生毫無作用，莫教授毫無格調，又愛把短篇擴建成長片，顯得節奏冗長。
