本故事中的女主角，14岁。幼时父母双亡，被送进军事化管理的孤儿院，在游戏故事开始的三个星期前，与先逃脱并加入火萤的同伴莱莉逃出孤儿院，在途中意外遭到感染，却没有变成感染者，被火萤的人带走后才被玛琳发现真实身份。
身上可能蕴藏着研制疫苗的关键，因此玛琳要求乔尔与泰丝带着艾莉去找护送部队，让护送部队带着艾莉去实验室找出研制疫苗的方法。但护送部队却已全灭，在途中泰丝不小心被感染者咬伤后，自知没救而独自断后与军队交战后战死，之后艾莉与乔尔一起踏上旅途。
